恬靜的小城因日軍侵略而蒙上陰影，有人選擇明哲保身，有人則奮力抵抗。鄧光榮飾演的縣長公子表面親日，私下卻是抗日組織的首腦，在片中是衝突性最大的一個角色。雖然這在當年，是標準符合政治正確的類型產物，但鄧光榮、林鳳嬌與秦漢的黃金卡司，以及結合片廠風格與實景拍攝、賣力重塑時代風情的影像設計，如今看來，都是難以再現的往日風華。

 

At the time of Japanese occupation, TU Hsing-Han, the principal of Hsing-Han High School, continues to run the school as usual. His daughter and the school teacher, LI Yue-Ting, are his best helpers. They consider education the root to the country's survival so they fight against the Japanese occupants' conspiracy to destroy the Chinese culture.
