大半生都奉獻給一家藝術電影院的男子，身兼節目策劃、放映師，還主持廣播節目；隨著觀眾流失，又失去贊助經費，戲院關門之日似乎不遠矣。這天，他不得不離開熟悉的戲院，但或許新的人生和愛情才正要開始…。這是一部獻給所有在戲院內度過美好時光的影癡們的動人作品，黑白光影中訴說著對電影的濃厚情感，亦是烏拉圭角逐奧斯卡外語片獎的代表作。
Jorge has been the film programmer and technical support at the cinémathèque for 25 years. He also has a news show where he conducts interviews and talks about movies with filmmakers. Because attendance is down, the cinémathèque struggles to make a profit and shuts down, leaving Jorge unemployed. The first time he is forced to change his way of life.
