幾十年來，王文興一直是台灣最重要的現代主義小說家之一，他以文字詰屈聱牙，每天只寫三十個字左右，幾十年來從未間斷，而為人津津樂道。對於他的特立獨行，王文興解釋道：「我不是標新立異，而是絕處求生。」這部紀錄片，透過尋找蛛絲馬跡的線索，來呈現王文興小說作品的價值，同時也試圖解開大多數人心中的謎團。
Wang Wen-Hsing has been one of the most important modernist novelists in Taiwan for decades. He is famous for his obscure and difficult style. He only writes about thirty words a day but such a determination has lasted for more than thirty years. This documentary attempts to help the readers to understand the values of Wang's works.
